Job Summary:  

Inogen is centralizing project management via the establishment of its Transformation Management Office (TMO). This is a unique opportunity to help build this organization from the ground up while immediately jumping in to lead critical medical device projects in the business.   

The IT Project Manager helps to develop project proposals that address goals, timeframes, methodology, and staffing requirements for projects with information technology impact. These include transformational projects to build new capabilities, as well as projects to optimize existing capabilities.They will oversee projects related to infrastructure, acquisition integrations, lifecycle management, and software installation and upgrades. Project assignments and complexity are matched to increased experience and skill levels. The IT Project Manager’s work is generally independent and collaborative in nature; receives guidance and direction from Chief Information Officer and Vice President of the TMO, as well as other senior leaders as needed. The IT Project Manager works closely with the other members of the TMO team on education and promotion of project and program management methodologies.  

Reporting to the Vice President (VP) of the TMO, you will significantly contribute to the success of Inogen and build capabilities and execute programs that shape the future of the company.    

Responsibilities(Specific tasks, duties, essential functions of the job):  

  • Provides project management leadership and direction for medium to large critical IT projects.
  • Creates detailed project plans, project scope documents, and maintains issues lists and other related documentation.
  • Utilizes InogenTMO policies and procedures for project management methodology and defining, testing, and installing the information technology clinical applications and other initiatives based upon the user-defined business requirements and best practices.
  • Provides an effective liaison between the business departments, the project Committee and the IT department, as well as, external vendors providing IT-related project management services.
  • Provides mentorship and training to other members of the TMO team and IT analysts.
  • Achieve project deliverables to scope within budget, timeline, resource plans and constraints.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with any other duties as assigned.  
 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities   

  • Experience in agile project management methodology on corporate IT projects.
  • Knowledge of corporate IT processes and best practices for delivering IT systems & solutions.
  • Proven ability to manage corporate IT projects composed of cross-functional teams of IT technical staff, business stakeholders and 3rd party vendor partners.
  • Experience with implementation and support of enterprise IT business systems such as Oracle EBusiness Suite, Salesforce.com, Microsoft Office 365 or similar systems.
  • Advanced experience creating Business Requirements, Project Plans, Project Schedules and associated project materials. Experience with supporting both purchased and in-house developed hardware and software applications.
  • Familiarity with healthcare clinical applications development, support planning and ongoing applications management.
  • Advanced technical computer skills as required for technical support specific to functional area and related systems.
  • Analytical & problem-solving skills & ability to multi task.
  • Solutions-oriented problem solver.
  • Excellent planning, communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong background in Project Management best practices, preferably according to PMI processes.
  • Ability to lead large corporate IT system implementation projects at an enterprise level.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills with ability to conduct presentations comfortably to large groups.
  • Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, and conflict resolution.
  • Proven leadership ability with an emphasis on accountability and conflict management.
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.
 
   
   

Qualifications(Experience and Education): 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of formal Project Management experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working in IT or managing systems-related projects, preferably using the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.
  • Project management certification from PMI or equivalent, preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge/proficiency in MS Project, Excel and other MS Office applications, required.
  • A combination of training, education and experience that is equivalent to the qualifications listed above and that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
