Inogen Job Title: Operations Supervisor II 
 
Position Description:  
The Supervisor is responsible for the manufacture of INOGEN products, including direct management of 10+ operations associates and leads in a safe manufacturing environment.  Also responsible for the implementation of lean/visual manufacturing techniques to maximize flow and minimize cost.  Excellent communication and coordination with Project Management, Engineering, Production Planning, and Inventory are required to assure that INOGEN’s overall project goals are achieved.  The position includes all other duties as assigned. This is a second shift only opportunity. 
 
Responsibilities:  
  • Direct supervision of packaging, shipping, and/or warehouse, including team leads, hourly team members, and temporary/contingent workers.
  • Design work cells/lines for optimal flow based on stated takt times.
  • Assist in the overall coordination with Project Management, Design Engineering, Procurement and Production Planning to ensure timely delivery of finished components and solutions to INOGEN’s customers.
  • Open communication and collaboration with Project Managers, Design Engineering, Production Planning, Procurement, Inventory, Controls & Software Engineering, and Finance are required to ensure that INOGEN’s overall program and financial goals are achieved.
  • Lead with a continuous improvement mindset to improve workflow efficiency, product quality, team member effectiveness, and timeliness of production schedule.
  • Active participation and leadership in the continued development of an effective safety program, lean manufacturing, and direct reports growth training opportunities to maximize team member safety and minimize INOGEN liability and risk.
  • Conduct administrative tasks including timecard hours verification, PTO approval, scheduling workflow, employee counseling and corrective actions, quarterly reviews, manufacturing operations KPI metric reporting as designated by senior mgmt.
  • Maintain the 5S program to ensure efficiency. 
  • Calculate metrics daily, weekly, and monthly and present to management and team members.
  • Track inventory accuracy for area responsible and root cause variances.
  • Will be able to mentor and train junior staff members.

Position Qualifications:  
Level 1  
  • Bachelors or Associates with relevant years of experience preferred.
  • Experience with Kanban systems required.
  • Experience with inventory accuracy and cycle count programs required.
  • Experience with parcel and LTL shipping transactions and processes required.
  • 1-2 years in a lead or supervisory role in an operations environment required.
  • Knowledge and ability to speak on lean manufacturing methodologies required.
  • Previous Quality Assurance and ISO program experience required.
  • Direct supervision of a team size of 10+ required.
  • Evidence of operating an ERP system required.
Level 2  
  • In addition to Level 1 qualifications, Level 2 requirements include:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Evidence of increasing responsibility in operations roles required.
  • 3+ years in a people leader role in an operations environment required.
  • Experience in management of job, batch and volume production environments manufacturing complex mechanical, electrical, electronic, or robotic assemblies preferred.
  • Direct experience in lean/visual manufacturing operations and workflow optimization required.
  • Ability to read engineered drawings, prints, diagrams, and schematics preferred.
  • Experience in developing and working with mfg. standards, including document and revision control required.
Level 3  
  • In addition to Level 2 qualifications, Level 3 requirements include:
  • 5+ years in a people leader role in an operations environment required.
  • Ability to fill in as a proxy to direct manager preferred.
  • Ability to lead cross functional continuous improvement events preferred.
